Specsavers in Bedford recently participated in an event run by a local branch of AGE UK, to let the community know more about what services the store provides and how they can help them with both vision and hearing issues.
Spreading the word
Staff from the opticians and audiology experts were present at the event in the Bedford Corn Exchange, speaking to attendees about everything from free hearing tests to enhanced optical services.
Audiology director at Specsavers in Bedford, Aekta Patel said: ‘Everyone knows that Specsavers sell glasses and can tell you your prescription, but there are lots of things people don’t realise. We have qualified and experienced audiologists who are able to give customers free hearing tests and dispense hearing aids when necessary. From a vision point-of-view, our optometrists are able to use their knowledge and state-of-the-art technology to detect conditions from glaucoma and macular degeneration to diabetes and high blood pressure.
Out in the community
‘That’s why it’s so important for us to be about in the community, letting people know all the ways we are able to help them.’
AGE UK invites Specsavers in Bedford to join them at the event on an annual basis. To find out more information about the aforementioned services, contact the store.
