The team at Specsavers in Bearwood has stepped in to help flood victims in Cumbria by donating a £1 from every eye examination throughout January.
The store made the donation of £726 to the Abrahamic Foundation which helped support a mission to send 60 volunteers and clean up supplies to the sites most affected by the floods in Cumbria.
‘The team was struck by the devastation caused by the recent floods to families there and wanted to help,’ said Majid Jawaid, store director. ‘While we weren’t able to physically support with the clean up it’s great to have been able to help with this donation and to know that it’s been put to such good use.’
The Abrahamic Foundation was established in 2009 to serve the diverse needs of the Muslim community. The aim of the organisation is to create a centre that excels in providing high quality services in education, youth work, training, new Muslim provisions, and many other bespoke community services.
