Specsavers in Batley recently donated a number of high-visibility vests to keep children safe when they are out and about.
The Specsavers store in Batley donated the vests to Gawthorpe Community Academy and Dewsbury Celtics Rugby Club after launching a campaign to increase the safety of local children by making it easier for motorists to spot them when their activities take them into the community, or when they’re out on school trips.
The team also gave the vests out to families in store, along with balloons and a copy of the Specsavers magazine.
A word from the store director
Paul Smith, store director at Specsavers in Batley, said: 'At this time of year when the days are quite short, combined with the unpredictable weather, it can be difficult to keep track of a group of children on the move.
'With this in mind, we wanted to help increase the safety of children in the area and we were thrilled that Gawthorpe Community Academy and the Dewsbury Celtics were happy to be a part of our safety campaign.'
