The Barrhead opticians held a weekend of celebrations to mark its fifth anniversary in the town.
Celebrating with local customers
Staff at Specsavers, on the Main Street, marked the milestone with a cake which was shared with customers.
A hamper of goodies, including chocolates, bath bombs, biscuits and lip balm, was also up for grabs for customers to win.
Anyone who made a purchase on the store’s birthday was entered into a draw to be in with a chance of winning the prize.
Gail Thompson, store director at Specsavers in Barrhead, said: ‘Supporting the community has been an important focus for the store over the past five years, therefore we were delighted to celebrate this milestone with our customers.’
Investing in the community
Since it opened its doors five years ago, the store has lent its support to several local sports teams, donated high visibility vests to local schools and nurseries and provided 20 large print books to the local library in Barrhead Foundry.
The opticians is also leading the way in developing the next generation of eyecare specialists, with regular work placements for post-graduate and pre-registered optometrists, as well as local high school and university students.
Gail continued: ‘We are extremely proud of our achievements over the past five years.
‘Offering first class customer service, supporting the community, and providing opportunities for students and new recruits will remain our key priorities.’
