Staff at the Specsavers Roundswell store in Sainsbury’s are donned their finest sunnies to raise awareness of the RNIB’s shades for sight campaign this National Sunglasses Day.
The store took part in a summer theme and donated £1 from every eye test to eye health partners RNIB. Staff also accepted donations for specs and sunglasses MOTs and repairs, and handed out free goody bags.
A word from the store director
Emily Water, Specsavers Roundswell Sainsbury’s store director, said: ‘The aim of National Sunglasses Day is to encourage everyone, young and old, to protect their eyes this summer from harmful UV rays. We’re calling on all our customers to join us and spread the word with a selfie wearing their sunglasses to share with friends and family.’
Make sure your sunglasess are marked with CE or British Standard BS EN ISO 12312-1: 2013 for a safe level of protection.
