Specsavers in Barnsley has pledged its support to a worthy cause in the community by holding an in-store fundraising day in aid of the Pippa Jones Little Treasure Trust.
The team at Specsavers on Queen Street held the fundraising day which provides gift bags to children and teenagers suffering with cancer, while also offering treasure bags for the siblings of young cancer sufferers.
The charity also offers financial assistance towards childcare costs, as well as providing grants for research into childhood brain tumours.
Games, toys, arts and crafts
Customers who came along on the day kindly donated items that will now be used to form the gift bags that the store is filling for the charity, including games, toys, arts and crafts items, magazines, toiletries and vouchers.
Darren Thornton, store director, said: ‘The fundraising day was a great success and I'd like to thank our loyal customers for once again showing their support to our efforts.
‘Our customers have always been great when it comes to getting behind our charitable efforts and they didn't disappoint this time either, as we had more than 100 items donated on the day.’
