On Thursday 02 March, Specsavers in Bangor is swapping green for red as they fundraise for Comic Relief.
As well as dressing in red for the fun day, the store will be giving out sweets in exchange for donations to Comic Relief, as well as selling the official Red Nose Day glasses for only £2, all of which goes to the charity.
The comedy frames have waving hands and come in both adult and children’s sizes. Andrea Ridgway, store director at Specsavers in Bangor, Bloomfield Shopping Centre said: ‘We’re delighted that Specsavers is a partner for Comic Relief. All our staff get really in to the fundraising, and the novelty glasses are the perfect way to put the fun in fundraising, but for a very serious cause.’
Give us a wave
This year, Specsavers are inviting the public to purchase the special frames and upload a selfie to social media platforms with the hashtag #GiveusaWave, to receive their own wave back.
Andrea continued; ‘We’ll have plenty of glasses for customers to have fun with, so we can’t wait to see all the selfies being uploaded with the special hashtag.’
Every penny raised by Specsavers will go to projects which help poor and vulnerable people living difficult lives in both the UK and across Africa. Specsavers stores across the UK hope to raise at least £250,000 for Comic Relief projects.
Specsavers has been a Comic Relief partner since 2015.
