Staff at Specsavers in Aylesbury will be glowing for Guide Dogs on Friday 9 October as they celebrate Guide Dogs Week 2015.

Getting behind the charity’s ‘Let’s Glow’ theme, the team will also host a bake sale to raise funds for the charity. While customers can enjoy a tasty treat in return for a donation, younger visitors will be in with a chance to win prizes with a variety of in-store games and competitions.

Glowing for Guide Dogs

‘We’re really proud to be supporting Guide Dogs this year,’ said Ellen Conquest, store director. ‘The whole team will be donning neon to mark our fun day on Friday, so we hope to see lots of customers stopping by to join us in supporting Guide Dogs.’

Guide Dogs Week is the charity’s annual awareness and fundraising week which takes place from 3-11 October. Specsavers has proudly supported the charity for more than 10 years, raising a nationwide total of £270,000 to fund 25 guide dog puppies.

Every donation helps

Lisa Bell, Guide Dogs’ corporate partnerships officer, said: ‘Every hour another person in the UK loses their sight, and the impact is life changing. The Guide Dogs charity is here to make sure that when someone loses their vision they don’t have to lose their freedom as well. This Guide Dogs Week we want to reach even more people to raise awareness and reach our biggest ever Guide Dogs Week fundraising target of £1million.’

Specsavers customers can also get involved in Guide Dogs Week by visiting, or can simply show their support by texting FREEDOM to 70007 to donate just £3, or even pop in to a store to pick up a glow in the dark pin badge for £1.
