Pupils at an Ashford primary school have benefitted from a talk by Specsavers Ashford about the importance of good eye health and regular sight tests.

Team member Benita Lowe from the store visited Ashford Primary School to give a talk to pupils.

What an eye test involves

The children took part in activities based on the anatomy of the eye and the sight test itself, as well as talking about a series of optical illusions and why our brains see things that aren’t necessarily what we are looking at.

'We've been visiting local schools to talk to the pupils about what's involved in a sight test,' said Benita.

Educating on eye health

'We think it's really important to educate youngsters about the importance of eye examinations and they all seemed to enjoy the session.

'Some of the children mentioned they had not had a sight test before and would now ask their parents to arrange one, which was great to hear.’
