On dark winter nights, it’s important to make sure you stay safe and stay seen, however young or old you are.

That’s why Specsavers Ashford in County Square Shopping Centre recently donated a stash of high visibility vests to children taking part in the Carnival of the Baubles in the town centre.

Festive celebration

The event, taking place in Ashford for the first time in December, saw a procession through the town of giant illuminated baubles decorated by children from local schools.

The children involved in the festive celebration were able to take their vests away to wear throughout the rest of the winter months and beyond.

A word from the store director

Robert Marsden, store director in Ashford, said: ‘We were really happy to be involved in the Carnival of the Baubles.

‘It really brought the town together, and we hope it is the beginning of a tradition which continues for many years to come.’
