Specsavers in Ashby has given its support to the children’s creativity competitions, held as part of the annual Arts Festival in Ashby de la Zouch from 23-30 May 2015.
Children from school years 1-6 were invited to take part in a rhyming and colouring competition, while those from years 7-9 could try their hand at creative writing and enter a short story competition.
On Saturday 23 May, Paula Harper, store director, awarded prizes to the chosen winners of each age group, in addition to presenting the coveted ‘Specsavers Silver Trophy for Creativity’ to an overall winner.
Paula said: ‘The Ashby Arts Festival is a really great community event and it’s always great to see the huge amount of creativity there is in the town. It was so exciting to see what the children came up with, and it certainly made hard work for the judges to pick the winners!’
Organiser of this year’s children’s competitions, Dianne Lorriman, said: ‘We're very grateful for the continued support of our local Specsavers and the winners were all thrilled with their prizes.’
