Staff at Specsavers Arbroath have donated supplies to support a new local food bank. The Angus Foodbank is in the process of setting up a distribution Centre, Warehouse and Training Centre in Gravesend.
Helping to make a difference
Cat Black, from Specsavers Arbroath, said: ‘The Arbroath store wanted to show its support for this new facility and staff collected all kinds of foods which were recently picked up by the organisation. We hope it makes some difference to people and families in need.’
Alf Collington, Angus Foodbank Manager at Strathmore Christiain Fellowship, said: ‘Donations such as these are the life blood of our service to the community as we are currently distributing two tonnes of food per month throughout Angus and we thank all those who donated food to this collection.’
During the past 12 months, the organisation has fed more than 2,100 in Angus.
