The Arbroath opticians has welcomed 13 new members of staff to the team, following completion of the store’s expansion in March.

Significant investment
The new posts include four dispensing consultants, five optical assistants, two lab technicians, a pre-reg optometrist and a clinical receptionist.

The appointments were the result of the recent £400k investment to expand the store and provide two additional test rooms, allowing staff to carry out almost 200 additional eye tests each week.

Recruitment drive
Jamie Buchan, store director at Specsavers Arbroath, said: ‘Our huge new store has enabled us to respond to customer demand and to help us achieve this, we’ve recruited a significant number of new staff members over the past two months.

I’m confident that all our new recruits will help us to continue to deliver the best possible service to our customers and we’re all very pleased to have them join our team.

We’ve also welcomed a familiar face back to the store, Michelle Hadden, joined as our in-store trainer and contact lens supervisor when we first opened in 2004 and was with us for four and a half years. It’s great to have her back as a dispensing consultant.’
