Specsavers in Antrim has welcomed three new trainee optical assistants to the team bringing the total number of employees to 14.

Stevie-Lee Hutton

Stevie-Lee Hutton, who is from Antrim, began her career as a hairdresser before moving to a job at Belfast International Airport. She has worn glasses all her life and always enjoyed going to the opticians. When an opportunity came up at Specsavers she jumped at the chance and is now learning all about dispensing and pre-testing.

Joanna McDowell

Originally from Randalstown, Joanna studied health and social care at the Northern Regional College with thoughts of becoming a social worker. After a period working at Galgorm Resort & Spa, Joanna was attracted by the job at Specsavers which would allow her to develop a professional career. Only weeks into the role, Joanna is already learning a lot and really enjoying working with people especially children.

Samantha Crawford

With over 15 years’ retail experience behind her, Samantha was ready for a new challenge. Having reached manager level in previous jobs, Samantha was willing to start again as a trainee such is her enthusiasm and commitment to her new role at Specsavers. She loves the atmosphere in the Antrim store created by both her colleagues and the customers and is already fully engaged in an in-store training programme which will lead to her qualification as an optical assistant.
