Specsavers Andover store team has upped its fundraising stakes and raised vital funds for Blind Veterans UK by donating £1 from every eye test to help ex-military personnel, including those who were in national service, who suffer from sight loss.

Grahame Smith, store director says: ‘Blind Veterans UK is a fantastic charity, and our staff were all very excited to get involved. Our week of fundraising was a great opportunity for us to raise money and increase awareness of armed forces personnel who are battling with blindness.
‘We were delighted to see lots of customers pop in to join in our fundraising and we would like to thank all of our customers for their generosity.’
Blind Veterans UK was founded in 1915 by Sir Arthur Pearson who was determined to provide care and rehabilitation to those who lost their sight in the First World War. Today the charity provides lifelong practical and emotional support for veterans, helping them to recover their independence and discover life beyond their sight loss.
