How did you come to work at Specsavers?
I first started my career at an independent opticians and joined Specsavers here in Altrincham in 1996. To start with I was a little unsure about working for such a large company but those fears were unfounded.
Do you wear specs, and if so do you have a favourite style?
Need both distance and reading. Will be moving on to Varifocals with my next pair. Typical middle age syndrome. My favorite frame style in the range at Specsavers is probably the Timberland frames.
What does your job involve?
The biggie, delivering high quality glasses on time to the customer. But I also get involved on the shop floor with the customers from time to time dispensing and fitting spectacles.
How Long have you been with the company?
What is the best part of your role?
Seeing a satisfied customer.
Challenges come along every now and then, but they keep the job interesting. Mainly deadlines for customer wanting glasses at short notice.
Why is it so important to get your eyes checked regularly?
People think eyes are all about sight and don't realize the health problems an eye test can detect, and catch what may be a preventable problem early.
