The Alnwick store treated the town’s touch women’s rugby teams to a club barbecue this spring.
Led by director Grant Welsh, the opticians and audiology centre sponsored a club get-together of the Alnwick Rugby Football Club women’s touch rugby teams and provided 150 training tops for attendees.
Launched in the town earlier this year for touch rugby beginners, the tackle-free rugby offshoot has gone from strength to strength.
A thriving sport
Grant said: ‘Rugby is a great tradition here in Alnwick and across the country, and it’s fantastic to see it thriving.
‘We hope the women’s touch rugby teams enjoyed their barbecue in celebration of all their hard work to date, and we hope their training tops will come in handy in the weeks and months to come.’
The opticians and audiologists has also recently sponsored kits for the club’s under 13s and under 15s girls’ squads, and under 11s boys’ team.
