An Alnwick opticians and audiology centre is celebrating a five-figure investment in community projects.
Since opening the doors of his store in August 2017, Grant Welsh of Specsavers in Bondgate has donated a generous £10,000 to special causes in the town.
This includes showing support for everything from the town’s Christmas stage and Alnwick Rugby Football Club, to donating to the Alnwick Round Table Duck Race and the upcoming Alnwick Strongman competition.
A word from the store director
Grant said: ‘I’m a Northumberland boy and it gives me great pride, as a local businessman, to show support for the great community endeavours here in Alnwick.
‘From the duck race to the strongman competition, for me it’s all about lending a helping hand to the people who do so much for our area, and encouraging and supporting community spirit.
‘With three months to go until we celebrate our first birthday, we already feel very much like we’re part of the community here in Alnwick.’
