Staff from a local opticians will sport an eye-catching new look on July 29th – the entire team is set to wear coloured contact lenses as part of an awareness-raising event.
Specsavers in Alloa is keen to spread the word about the huge advances in contact lenses in recent years.
Developments in contact lens technology
Store director Lynne Sangster explains: ‘Contact lenses really took off a few decades ago when soft lenses became available, and they have continued to evolve and improve considerably since then.
‘We see lots of customers who are unaware of the developments in contact lens technology, and some who assume they can’t wear lenses when that’s simply not the case.
‘Today’s lenses are more comfortable, easier to wear, there are disposable and coloured options, there are options for people with astigmatism – so we want to shout about this and educate customers about what’s available.’
A fun day will be held in store, with tea, coffee and biscuits being served throughout the day, and an optician will be on the shop floor all day to answer any contact lens queries.
Everyone who books themselves in for a contact lens fitting will also be put into a draw to win a pair of designer sunglasses.
