Specsavers in Alloa is expecting a very special canine visitor to help encourage customers to dig deep in support of Guide Dogs Scotland.
The guide dog in-training will be accompanied by representatives from the charity at the store on Friday, 10 October.
As well as providing customers with the chance to meet one of the charity’s puppies and learn about the vital work of Guide Dogs Scotland, the store visit forms part of the training process, by familiarising the puppy with busy public environments it will likely encounter as a fully-trained guide dog.
Staff will be selling tablet on the day and are also holding an in-store competition to win a giant cuddly Labrador puppy soft toy for correctly guessing its birthday. All proceeds raised will be going to Guide Dogs Scotland, which works to provide mobility and freedom to blind and partially sighted people.
Lynne Sangster, retail director of Specsavers Alloa, says: ‘Everyone at the store is looking forward to meeting our four-legged visitor, who I’m sure will receive lots of attention from our customers.
‘Guide Dogs Scotland is a charity we have long supported and a very worthy cause so I’m hopeful we will have a healthy total to hand over after our fundraising event.’
