Specsavers Aldershot has been on the hunt for the town's very own Spectacle Wearer of the Year.
Snap a selfie
Staff from Specsavers, located at 25 Union Street, have been searching high and low for the town’s finest glasses wearer and have been calling on customers to snap a selfie in their specs to enter this year’s competition.
On Friday 4 July the store held a special judging day to decide who the 2014 Aldershot Specs Wearer of the Year. First prize was Caitlin George, who won a pair of designer frames, second was Connor Wakeline, who won a £75 gift voucher, and third went to Dorothy Stevens, who won a £50 voucher.
£1 per entry to Kidscape
This year Specsavers have teamed up with Kidscape on their search for the Spectacle Wearer of the Year, and for every Specsavers is donating £1 to Kidscape.
Mark Dunn, Specsavers Aldershot store director says: ‘We have had a great response to the competition and the standard of entries has been very high. Thank you to all of 250 entrants, you have already helped us raise £250 for Kidscape.
Wearing glasses with pride
‘Our competition is all about wearing your glasses with pride and we want to thank you to all of our customers that have come into the store and entered into the fun. Specsavers have managed to raise more than £7,000 this year so far for Kidscape but it’s great that there’s still time for everyone to enter.’
A winner from each category will win a VIP makeover and will attend the celebrity-studded grand final in London at 8 Northumberland Avenue on 7 October.
