Specsavers in Aldershot got behind Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice with a special day of fundraising day in support of the local charity organised by a member of store staff.
Kelly Reid, from Specsavers Aldershot, organised the day to mark the 20th anniversary of the death of her uncle Mathew Christie. Aged only 26, Mathew was tragically killed by a motorbike on 13 November 1994.
Charity football match, race night and a raffle
With the support of friends and relatives, Kelly co-ordinated a charity football match, a race night and a raffle all in aid of the hospice.
Kelly said: ‘Thank you to everyone that made donations and got involved in the fundraising day. The day was a fitting tribute to my uncle and a celebration of his life; he would have been humbled by the day.
Fantastic work in the local area
‘Phyllis Tuckwell is a hospice that does fantastic work in the local area, caring for people with terminal illnesses. I’m delighted we were able to raise over £800 on their behalf.’
Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice is an only adult Hospice caring for terminally ill people and their families across the whole of West Surrey and part of North East Hampshire, both at the Hospice and in the community.
