A local mum has won fantastic Mother’s Day gifts after her daughter submitted a letter to a competition run by opticians in Airdrie and Coatbridge.
Sharleen Renicks from Airdrie won the competition, which was arranged by Specsavers.
Specsavers in Airdrie encouraged youngsters to nominate their mum to win a variety of well-deserved gifts and pampering treatments to make this Mother’s Day extra special.
Highlighting wonderful qualities
Kayleigh Renicks, aged 11, wrote the winning letter to her local opticians listing all the wonderful qualities of her mum and why she deserved to win the prize.
The lucky winning mum popped into Specsavers recently to pick up her selection of gifts.
The prize included a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Occasions and free designer glasses from Specsavers as well as a blow dry at Liam’s Hair studio, eyebrow wax at Lorraine’s beauty room and meal for two at No37 Café.
Congratulations and thank you
Andrew McGonagle, Specsavers store director, said: ‘We are always overwhelmed with the response to our Mother’s Day competition each year, we love to read all the poems and letters as everyone has such lovely things to say about their mums.
‘I’d like to say a big thank you to all the local businesses who donated prizes and to Heather Flannagan for organising.
‘Well done Kayleigh and congratulations to our winning mum Sharleen, we hope you enjoy your well-deserved treats.’
