Specsavers in Acton has a special request - we are on the hunt for local young heroes who could go on to an awards ceremony at Westminister!

Supporting Dame Mary Perkins cause

Dame Mary Perkins, founder of Specsavers, has made a special request to the team at Specsavers in Acton to help her find some worthy winners of the British Citizen Youth Awards.  Dame Mary is a patron of the scheme as well as a supporter and is urging local communities to shout about their great deeds.

What are the awards

As they sound, they celebrate and recognise the amazing achievements of young people.  Have you done something amazing to support your local community?  Or taken on a challenge for a local charity close to your heart?  Whatever the achievement, we would love to hear all about it.

How to enter

Those selected as a winner will go on to attend a day at Palace of Westminster in October 2017, where Specsavers founder Dame Mary Perkins will present the medals to those individuals who have done amazing things for their communities. It is really easy to apply too.

The British Citizen Youth Award is open to all children who will be under the age of 16 in October 2017. To apply, please email jacquif@britishcitizenawards.co.uk with BCYA in the subject line. The deadline for all entries is Wednesday 9 August 2017.
