Specsavers in Acomb has spread some Christmas cheer by donating toys and games to those who would have gone without over the festive season.

The team at Specsavers in Acomb all got involved and donated a collection of items such as toys, books and crayons to fill boxes for Operation Christmas Child.

The boxes were then dropped off at a collection point in Poppleton.

'Proud to be involved'

Acomb Specsavers store director, Stephen McEnaney, comments: ‘It’s that time of year where those who are less fortunate than ourselves will miss out on the festive cheer for various different reasons.

'As a team we feel it’s really important to ensure that every child has something to look forward to, so I’m very proud of the team for getting involved and doing their bit.’
