The team at Specsavers in Acomb got into the charity spirit recently and raised over £100 for Children in Need.
To drum up the cash, the team hosted a bake sale and created a hamper filled with foodie goodies such as chutneys, jams, crackers, chocolate and biscuits, selling raffle tickets to customers.
Lucky Specsavers customer Lauren Midgley won the hamper and was presented with her prize by Georgia Eason.
'Doing our bit for charity'
Stephen McEnaney, Store Director at Specsavers in Acomb, said: ‘The team is great at doing their bit for charity and will often get involved with charitable initiatives.
'We’ve got some great bakers in the team, so we took advantage of their baking skills to help raise vital funds for Children in Need.
‘I’d just like to say a huge thank you to our generous customers for making another one of our fundraising events so successful.’
