Specsavers are opening in Acocks Green, creating seven full time jobs for local people. The new store at 1086 Warwick Road, Acocks Green, is planned to open on Monday 8 June.
The business will be run by three directors; Ramiz Ahmed, Dee Browning and Raj Sandhu who are familiar faces to Specsavers, as both Dee and Raj are also directors at the Yardley store, while Ramiz has worked as an optometrist for a number of the stores across the midlands.
The former Timpson store boasts three test rooms over one floor and customers will be able to choose from an extensive range of glasses starting at just £25 through to designer ranges at £149. The store also has a dedicated contact lens area and a high-tech digital retinal camera that helps with the early detection of conditions like glaucoma, by taking a picture of the back of the eye. Digital retinal photography is offered at no extra cost as part of the standard eye examination service.
Ramiz Ahmed said: ‘My two co-directors and I are delighted to be launching the new store in Acocks Green and are very much looking forward to welcoming customers through the doors. Our aim is that they will see us as the equivalent to their friendly local GP and can be sure of the best possible standards of eyecare and customer service.’
The store will be holding a celebratory opening on Saturday 27 June from 10am until 4pm, with special guests, entertainment and treats for visitors.
