Father Christmas didn't need to worry about checking his list twice ahead of his busiest night of the year after stopping by for an eye test at Accrington Specsavers.
In what has become an annual traditional for the big man in red, he visited the Cornhill store on Saturday, 19 December, to make sure his eyes were in perfect health ahead of his upcoming round-the-world journey and handed out sweets to Accrington children.
Passed with flying colours
While he was there, Santa also found time to have a quick snack from the store’s festive bake sale and was thrilled to hear that the event had raised £60 for the national Text Santa appeal.
Suzanne George, store director of Accrington Specsavers, commented: ‘We very much appreciate Father Christmas taking the time out of his busy schedule to meet our local young customers and to raise awareness of the importance of regular eye care.
‘Even if you’re not tasked with navigating a group of eight reindeer across the world in one night, it’s really important to look after your eyes this winter.
Xmas seal of approval
‘We’d also like to say a big thank to everyone who attended and tucked in to our festive bake sale. The big man himself told us he really appreciates everyone’s efforts as it will go to a fantastic cause this winter.’
