Talented staff at Specsavers in Accrington are raising a toast after achieving a record-breaking summer with a bumper crop of graduations and qualifications.
It’s certainly a case of congratulations all round at the Cornhill-based Specsavers store where a total of five staff are celebrating a variety of personal and professional certificates.
Plenty to shout about
Among the success stories is ophthalmic lead professional Catherine Collin, aged 42, who has achieved a Doctorate in Optometry after five and a half years of study at Aston University.
Meanwhile, graduate optometrist Amna Shafiq, 21, has graduated from the University of Bradford with a first class honours degree in optometry.
And to top off the success, Umar Hussain, 24, Catherine Clarkson, 33, and Leah Thomas, 26, have all passed their three-year course in ophthalmic dispensing.

Suzanne George, store director of Accrington Specsavers, says her team’s success is testament to each staff member’s determination to succeed which has bread a collective culture of hard work and ambition.
Suzanne says: ‘On behalf of all the team, I would like to congratulate each of our staff on their own personal successes.
‘This is definitely the most qualifications we’ve have at the same time so there’s a great vibe in the store.
‘We have a fantastic team here and they have all worked incredibly hard. Each and every one of the qualifications is certainly very well deserved.’
