A familiar face has become a fully-fledged member of the team at Specsavers Abingdon after completing a year of on the job training.
Having finished his optometry degree at Aston University in Birmingham, 22-year-old Muhammad Asghar completed his pre-registration year at the store and has now joined the team as a fully qualified optometrist.
'Gaining valuable experience'
Muhammad said: ‘Abingdon is a small, quieter environment compared to Birmingham but has a wide-ranging demographic. This has given me the opportunity to gain some really valuable experience in both my clinical skills as well as how I communicate with customers.
'The pre-reg period was an intense experience but a very unique opportunity and I’m grateful to all the team and my fellow optometrists for their support.’
A word from the store director
‘Although Muhammad has been with us for a year and a half, we’re delighted to welcome him to the team as a qualified optometrist,’ said store director, Atul Vadgama.
‘He’s an integral part of the business and we’re sure he’ll continue to develop his skills in the coming years; we can see him having a long and bright future with us.’
