You’re hired - optical retailer is on the hunt for apprentices
Specsavers are now offering apprenticeships for students who are considering a career in optics and optometry.
Stowmarket Specsavers is currently looking to recruit an apprentice to fill their one year apprenticeship scheme. It is open to suitable applicants over the age of 16, with no previous optical experience required. Those that complete their apprenticeship become qualified optical assistants with the opportunity to work full-time at the store.
Simon Hill, store director at Specsavers Stowmarket says: ‘We believe that apprenticeships are a great opportunity for young people to enter the world of work in a safe and structured way. Our scheme in particular provides the apprentice with a real job, excellent training and nationally recognised qualifications.’
Earn while you learn
‘Rather than having to pay tuition fees, our apprentices earn a wage and receive additional benefits including paid holiday.’
Apprentices will primarily learn on the job, working in-store alongside eyecare professionals. Alongside this they complete the Level 2 Diploma in Optical Retail with the potential to further qualify as a dispensing optician within five years.
