Staff commit to climb to raise awareness
Staff from Wellington Specsavers are set to climb the Wrekin on Sunday 3 April as they raise awareness for Cavernoma Alliance UK.
The seven-strong team from Specsavers will set out from the store at 53 New Street and complete a 10-mile round trip climbing the Wrekin and returning to the shop in the hope of raising awareness and vital funds for the charity.
‘We’re really proud to be supporting Cavernoma Alliance as they celebrate their 10th anniversary and are looking forward to the walk this weekend,’ said Kelly Green from Specsavers Wellington. ‘Thousands of people are affected by cavernomas but it still remains a relatively unknown condition, so we hope our walk will help improve people’s awareness of the condition.’
Cavernoma Alliance UK was set up to raise awareness of the condition and is currently celebrating its 10th anniversary year. Found mainly in the brain and spinal cord, cavernomas are abnormal clusters of blood vessels which affect around 90,000 people in the UK, potentially causing seizures and vision problems.
