Woking local has specs appeal
A 66-year-old photography enthusiast from Woking has emerged from behind the camera to become a regional semi-finalist for Specsavers annual Spectacle Wearer of the Year award.
Step forward Mr Adrian Johnson!
Adrian has beaten hundreds of applicants in the South East to be the regional finalist in the 60+ age category. This achievement is worthy of praise on its own but Adrian was also delighted to receive vouchers worth £150 and a bottle of champagne to accompany his status as a savvy 60+ spec wearer!
Raising money for charity
The competition of Spectacle Wearer of the Year is now in it 21st year. Not only does it praise and celebrate stylish spec wearing individuals - it also raises money for UK anti-bullying children's charity Kidscape. For every entry received, £1 is donated to this great cause.
Store praises Adrian's win
Store director Carey Galloway is delighted to see Adrian be a regional finalist. She says: "Adrian has been a loyal customer to the store for more than seven years now and he always has a good story to tell. He’s such a wonderful guy and he proves that glasses should be embraced and not something to be ashamed of. We believe he is the epitome of style and hope he wins the top prize!’
