Specsavers in Wishaw is joining Specsavers stores nationwide in support of Comic Relief.

Staff at the store, located in Main Street, will be taking part in fun activities to encourage customers to donate to the cause – and all money raised will help poor and vulnerable people living tough lives both in the UK and across Africa.

Activities galore

Customers who buy raffle tickets in store from now until Friday 24 March will be in with a chance of winning a pair of designer sunglasses to the value of £125.

On Saturday 18 March, optical assistant Daniel Ruddy will be having his legs waxed.

And from Monday 20 March until Red Nose Day on Friday 24 March, staff will be dressing up in their silliest red costumes, wearing crazy specs, and hosting a bake sale.

A word from our store director

Erin Riddell, store director at Specsavers in Wishaw, said: ‘Everyone is very excited about the Comic Relief activities, and we’re all really looking forward to getting customers involved in the fundraising.

‘We hope that customers will pop into the store to support the cause.’

Comedy waving hand glasses, priced just £2, are available in store now. All money raised from sales of the specs will be donated to Comic Relief.

The glasses come in adult and children’s sizes. Customers are also being encouraged to take a waving selfie while wearing the glasses and share it on social media using the hashtag #giveusawave.
