Specsavers Wisbech Wishing Tree

Specsavers in Wisbech is aiming to make one local child’s dreams come true by installing a wishing tree to help raise funds for charity, ‘A Local Wish.’

Making a big difference

Staff from Specsavers are supporting the local initiative which aims to raise vital funds and provide support for underprivileged children and families in the local community by encouraging children to hang their personal wishes on the tree in exchange for a small donation.

Make a wish

The winning wish, chosen by staff from the store, will be brought to life by Specsavers Wisbech and the donations received by local residents. Store director, Mike Avery says: ‘As one of the main sponsors for this year’s activity, we are really looking forward to making a local child’s wish come true. It’s for a great cause and I hope we receive plenty of donations which will help provide a local child with a truly unforgettable experience.

‘It really is a fantastic campaign and I urge local residents to dig deep and support the fundraising.’ The tree will be in store for two weeks from Wednesday 11 June until Wednesday 25 June. Following the launch of the charity in 2013, it will be celebrating its one year anniversary with a grand event taking place on Sunday 22 June at Wisbech Rugby Club.

The all-day fundraiser will include an array of fundraising activities including a strong man competition, various games for children and a barbeque.
