Winning specs appeal in Ards
Specsavers has launched their annual Spectacle Wearer of the Year competition, and the local Newtownards store on High Street is on the search for a local to be in with the chance of winning £10,000 cash.
Nadine launches The Show
Nadine Coyle, of the multi-platinum, multi-award winning girl group Girls Aloud, took part in a special photo shoot to launch “the show”; the annual search for the Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2017.
Staff from the Newtownards store have planned some nights out to spot some specs-wearing talent in local bars and restaurants, encouraging locals to enter the competition.
So much style
Leigh Nelson, store director at Specsavers Newtownards said: ‘We know there is so much style and so much fashion in Newtownards so we’re determined to find a finalist, or even a winner, from this town this year.
‘The competition is fantastic to be part of, and each entry helps raise funds for anti-bullying charity Kidscape. We’re really impressed that the competition has raised more than £40,000 for the charity in the past six years.’
The competition has five age categories – 16-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-59 and over 60s, as well as a Facebook favourite voted for by the public. A winner from each category will win a VIP makeover and the opportunity to mingle with celebrities at the awards in London in October.
To be in with a chance of scooping the biggest accolade in the specs-wearing world, glasses wearers can enter the competition online at Specsavers.co.uk/loveglassescomp
