The team in Colwyn Bay is calling on customers to come into store and try to win a giant, cuddly dog, all in aid of charity Guide Dogs.
In a fundraising bid, staff at the store donned neon for a day to show their support for the hundreds of people living with sight loss in the local community.
To mark the charity’s annual awareness and fundraising week, store staff dressed up in bright clothes, decorated the store and offered customers the chance to win a fluffy pooch.
Proud supporter of Guide Dogs
Erica Chapman, store director of Specsavers Colwyn Bay, says: ‘Specsavers has been a proud supporter of Guide Dogs for more than 10 years. Thanks to the support of our customers we have raised a nationwide total of £270,000 in the past four years, which has funded 25 guide dog puppies. We’d like to encourage old and new faces to pop into store and put their name in the hat to win our prize pooch.’
Lisa Bell, Guide Dogs’ corporate partnerships officer says: ‘Every hour another person in the UK loses their sight, and the impact is life changing. The Guide Dogs charity is here to make sure that when someone loses their vision they don’t have to lose their freedom as well. This Guide Dogs Week we want to reach even more people to raise awareness and reach our biggest ever Guide Dogs Week fundraising target of £1million. Everyone is invited to join in the ‘Let’s Glow’ fun, meet some amazing people and have a good time!’
