A pair of opticians from Specsavers in Wigston took on the popular Leicestershire Pretty Muddy run at Prestwold Hall on Sunday 8 May, raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Getting stuck in the mud

Lucy Watson and Kay Chotai completed the five kilometre Race for Life course as a team, tackling a number of muddy obstacles along the way, including slides, jumps and crawling nets.

Store director, Kay Chotai, commented: ‘We are really pleased to have been able to take part in this year’s Pretty Muddy run and raise essential funds for those affected by cancer. It is a fantastic event and we both really enjoyed ourselves, despite our muddy running gear!’

Lucy Watson added: ‘It was great to join so many other women all taking part for such an important cause – certainly worth getting stuck in the mud for.’

Race for Life

Race for Life is a series of women only events organised by Cancer Research UK. Events such as 5 or 10 kilometre runs, marathons and hiking take place across the country and raise money for research into over 200 different types of cancer.
