Specsavers in Acomb has put its best boot forward and signed up to support the Under 10s Wigginton Grasshoppers local football team.
Two year sponsorship
As the official sponsor of the team, Acomb Specsavers has signed a two-year sponsorship agreement and recently provided training kit for 20 children and their coaches.
Stephen McEnaney, store director at Specsavers in Acomb, said: ‘We are so proud to be an official sponsor of Under 10s Wigginton Grasshoppers. It’s great to be able to sponsor a local cause that is so well known and loved by the local community.
'We really hope our sponsorship will help them to look the part when they play in tournaments and games, helping them to go on and achieve great things this year. We will certainly be backing them from the sidelines all the way.’
Andy Hurren, a coach at the club, said: ‘Local sponsorship is so important to us, as it helps us to keep the club operating and serve the local community. The club and I would like to extend a huge thanks to the team at Specsavers in Acomb for their support.’
Wigginton Grasshopppers FC is a charter standard community football club which was established in 1982 and is committed to providing children and adults a safe, enjoyable environment to develop their footballing education. It is currently raising funds to build a new club house which will serve future generations of community footballers.
