West Bromwich team focus their support on orphans
The team at Specsavers in West Bromwich has pledged its support for national charity Orphans in Need for 2016.
Staff have already begun their fundraising campaign for the charity, by donating £1 from every eye examination, throughout the month of January, to the cause.
‘When it came to nominating a charity for this year the team all felt that strongly about Orphans in Need,’ said Majid Jawaid, store director. ‘It’s a cause that I think touches everyone and one that we’re proud to be supporting.’
Staff at the store are busy planning various fundraising activities for the rest of the year in their bid to add more to the £1,459 they have already raised for the charity. They will also be offering all customers specs MOTs (cleaning and adjustments) in return for donations to help support their efforts.
Orphans in Need is a charity dedicated to improving and empowering the lives of vulnerable orphans and widows. A UK based organisation, it operates throughout the world supporting 9,000 orphans in 14 countries in numerous ways.
