Noses were red at Specsavers in Wellington on Friday 15 March as the team got into the Red Nose Day spirit.
While the team sported the Comic Relief funny frames which were on sale for just £2 a pair, customers were able to sample sweet treats in exchange for a donation in the charity bake sale and were also invited to take part in the ‘guess how many specs in the box competition.’
A word from the store director
‘The team always has fun raising money for Comic Relief,’ said store director, Satinder Sidhu. ‘Our local community are always hugely supportive, and we made sure there was something for everyone on the day.
‘The funny frames seemed really popular and with 100% of the proceeds from every pair bought going to the charity, they were a fantastic way to boost the Specsavers fundraising total.’
It’s the third year that Specsavers stores have supported Comic Relief by launching funny frames, with this year’s red glasses jester theme in keeping with the charity’s comic ethos. Since becoming an official supporter in 2015, Specsavers has raised more than £1million for the charity through sales of the glasses.
Customers who would like to recycle the frames can return them to the store and they will be sent on to a specialist recycling company.
