Staff at the Warminster Specsavers store are hosting a family fundraising day for the British charity Help for Heroes, in commemoration of Armed Forces Day.
Specsavers on Three Horseshoes Walk, are inviting local customers of the garrison town into store before Saturday 29 June to join the team and raise money for the UK armed forces charity.
An under 16 quiz will be held for teenagers and children, with a game of tanks (similar to the childhood classic, Battleships) hosted for the adults. There is a small entry fee of £2, and all proceeds will go towards helping service personnel. Staff are encouraging people to visit the store to purchase the quiz and battleships before Armed Forces Day. The winners of the activities will be announced on the day and will receive a prize for their efforts.
A word from the store director
‘The planning for Armed Forces Day has been in the works for a while,’ said store director, Richard Goring. ‘It will be fantastic to see all of our hard work come together on an enjoyable day for the community and we’re hoping to raise lots of money for the charity.’
