Walsall provides food for thought
An opticians in Walsall is collecting non-perishable food for the Black Country Foodbank.
Staff at Specsavers, 17 Park Street, Walsall, are appealing to customers and the community to drop off any in-date tinned, packaged goods or toiletries at the store between 1 and 30 September.
Store director Chris Parrish said: ‘We have always thought the foodbank collection was a great local cause to help as it serves people in need in our town during these tough times. Shoppers may wish to bring in ingredients or products they don’t use from their homes or pick up an extra tin during their weekly shop. Just one item goes a long way, so we are asking our customers for their support throughout September.’
