Walk raises money for hospice
Specsavers in Ryde is delighted to share news of a £238.25 charity donation to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice following their 8-mile flat walk - part of the 'Walk the Wight' - in May this year.
Fundraising for IOW Hospice
Earl Mountbatten Hospice has been supporting the IOW community for over 35 years with its stellar service and support. Their team provides expert medical, nursing and domiciliary end of life care and bereavement support to people in their own homes, including care homes, in their Newport building and in the local hospital.
Walk the Wight event
The Specsavers' team of six – plus dogs, Bella and Buddy - was among a crowd of over 9000 men, women, children (and dogs!) who took part in the 26.5 miles walk in May. Chris Bonner, an optician who took part, says: 'It was a challenge but what carried us through were the amazing crowd and the spectacular scenery.
'Also, we all knew that our participation would help raise some of the needed funds for the Hospice. This helped to spur us on.’
The team would like to thank everyone for their kind donations.
