Eyecare experts from Specsavers in Borehamwood have collected 1000 pairs old specs for charity in the first half of 2016.

The team from the store in Shenley Road have an annual campaign in aid of Specsavers charity partner, Vision Aid Overseas.

The charity receives and recycles old and unwanted specs to help fund eyecare services for those less fortunate overseas.

A word from the store director

Ronny Shome, director of Specsavers in Borehamwood, said: ‘The Borehamwood community are very generous towards our Vision Aid Overseas appeal. So much so, in 2016, we have amassed 1000 pairs of specs already.

‘At this rate, we look set to surpass the 2000 mark, which is just wonderful! It’s fantastic to see these old frames put to good use.’
