Uxbridge finalist for Spectacle Wearer of the Year Award
An Uxbridge woman has been short-listed as a regional finalist for Specsavers’ Spectacle Wearer of the Year Award, out of thousands of people across the South East.
More about the finalist
Fashion and culture blogger, Louisa Kiwana could win £10,000 as well as a luxury holiday in the Bahamas, plus styling and a personal shopping trip in London. 27-year-old Louisa loves to incorporate various designs and colours of frames into her style pieces on her blog. She has been wearing glasses since the age of six and now uses them to let her personality shine through as well as to express her style.
Louisa said: ‘I love wearing glasses; I think it gives me a distinct look. Wearing glasses is about feeling yourself and being your best self, there are loads of different styles to suit different faces, shapes and personalities.’
If triumphant in her category, Louisa has the chance to meet Girls Aloud singer and West End star Kimberley Walsh who launched the awards earlier this year.
One spectacle wearer is selected from each of the four age categories – 16-24; 25-39; 40-59 and 60+, as well as the Irish winner and a wildcard finalist who is voted for by the public on Facebook.
The awards will be held at London’s 8 Northumberland Avenue on Tuesday 7th October. All age category winners will win a VIP makeover, and one overall winner will take home the ultimate title in specs wearing.
Winner of The Spectacle Wearer of the Year will receive £10,000, plus a week’s holiday for two in the Bahamas courtesy of the Grand Lucayan Beach & Golf Resort as well as a variety of specs to complement every ensemble.
