Specsavers in Uttoxeter has been focusing on safely helping the local community where it can.
The store has suspended all routine testing for the foreseeable future to provide essential and urgent care only, particularly for key workers.
With lockdown still in force, members of the team have been safely delivering glasses, contact lenses and batteries for hearing aids to those that need them, making approximately 20 drop-offs.
‘Specsavers' teams are classed as key workers to provide urgent and essential eye care to those who need it,’ said store director, Laura Jacks. ‘This includes supporting other key workers who couldn’t function without our help and people who would come to harm without our health expertise, especially where the usual hospital services and NHS facilities are being prioritised for the fight against COVID-19.
‘We’re really happy that the local community are doing their bit to stay at home. So, we wanted to do our bit too. We have hand-delivered essentials to our customers and hope that they all stay safe and well.’
