University beckons for Arbroath dispensing assistant
A longstanding member of staff from Specsavers in Arbroath is preparing to take a break from her usual duties to study for an Optometry degree.
Born and bred in Arbroath and working at the opticians for the past five years, Cat Black is delighted to have been accepted onto the course at Glasgow Caledonian University.
The dispensing assistant is set to complete a part-time Ophthalmic Dispensing course at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge following final exams this July before going on to study for her degree.
Supported through her studies
Jamie Buchan, store director at Specsavers Arbroath said: ‘We’ve loved supporting Cat through her studies so far and everyone’s so pleased that she’ll qualify as a dispensing optician this summer.
We’d like to wish her all the best at university and will really miss her, so much so that we’ve already offered her a place for her pre-registration year in three years’ time.
We can’t wait to welcome her back as a pre-reg optician!’
