Specsavers Oban has placed a jazzed up shopping trolley in-store which it plans to, with the help of the local community, fill with tins of food. They will be handed over to local foodbank Hopes Kitchen to help those in need.

Ken Macdonald, Specsavers Oban store director, said: ‘Buying a couple extra cans in a weekly shop and then donating them is a simple gesture that can have such a huge positive impact on the lives of others.

Fill our trolley

‘I’m encouraging all of the staff here to bring in donations and we would love if the local community could help fill our trolley, all in aid of Hope Kitchen.’

The opticians will be collecting tins in-store until Thursday 1 June.
