TOWIE sisters show off new frames at the Spectacle Wearer of The Year Awards 2015

Two famous faces waved the flag for Specsavers Brentwood when they attended the annual star-studded event in London.

Sisters, Lydia and Lucy Mecklenburgh, both attended the annual Spectacle Wearer of The Year awards ceremony in London, donning their hand-selected glasses from their local Brentwood opticians.

In good company
Countless other specs-wearing stars included Louis Walsh, Made in Chelsea’s Oliver Proudlock, Lucy Watson and Stephanie Pratt at the event. Joey Essex, Brian McFadden, Vogue Williams, Twiggy, Vicki Michelle and Ferne McCann were also in attendance. Girls Aloud’s Sarah Harding performed a DJ set to round off the evening.

Celebrating spectacles
The event celebrated everything that is wonderful about wearing spectacles. James Adenrele, age 27 from Milton Keynes, was awarded the accolade of the Spectacle Wearer of The Year. Celebrities were also rewarded on the night with Strictly star Kevin Clifton receiving Best Newcomer while pop star couple Natasha Hamilton and Ritchie Neville received a special joint award for their specs style. TV icon Anne Robinson was awarded Services to Specs or her decades of dedicated glasses wearing.

Specsavers Brentwood store director said: 'We were delighted to assist both sisters with their eye tests and helping them hand-select the right frames to suit their personalities, colouring and face shapes.  We think they are the perfect role models for endorsing spectacles to a younger audience.  And of course, we are thrilled to see a couple of our customers in attendance at this major annual event!'
